In the case of Whoopie Goldberg, her curly hair was wildly inconsistent in color and shape in the photos. While these results do not exactly "fool the eye" they made for a consistent look that fit with the cut-and-paste animation style. Using 4 or five photos I was able to create dozens of facial expressions and head positions.
